Weingut Kurt Angerer

The wine estate (Weingut) can be found in the west of the Kamptal (Kamp Valley) in the village of Lengenfeld. The particularity of Weingut Kurt Angerer and its surrounding area is three different types of soil, condensed in a severely confined and narrow space. The distinct soil types are attributed to the Bohemian Massif, with granite, gneiss, slate from the north, red limestone gravel with lime inclusions from the southern prehistoric sea in the Vienna basin and loess deposits blown in over millions of years of climatic evolution.

This diversity allows Kurt Angerer to choose the perfect spot for each grape variety and to introduce mineral aromas and complexity to his wines.

With experience gained in France and trial projects in South Africa, Kurt and Gregor completely modified their approach to an old Syrah parcel: they now knew the potential that could be unleashed when adopting extreme changes in viticulture and winemaking. and they call this Syrah on granite straight REDGRANITE.
